Related: About this forum'FLAGS!' insist Tories
The Tories have robustly insisted that FLAGS!
It comes in the wake of some controversial rhetoric yesterday that many saw as not FLAGS.
---
It is expected that there will be 92 laws about flags created today and everyone who doesnt like flags will have to go to prison.
It is expected that Tories will continue to insist that FLAGS throughout the weekend until Tuesday or Wednesday when they will begin to demand STATUES or possibly MONARCHS instead.

Having a country run by English white supremacist patriarchal nationalists is so very tedious. Although credit were credit is due - they are very good at whipping up the xenophobic crowd to distract them from the shit job they are actually doing

I had to check the OP was from NewsThump:
Tories plot Union flag blitz in Scottish towns to stop independence
SCOTTISH playparks could be plastered with Union flags in an attempt to quell support for independence.
British branding could also be placed on community centres in towns and villages under the UK Governments plans to prevent a Yes vote.
Spearheaded by Scottish Secretary Alister Jack, the measures will see Holyrood bypassed as Westminster hands money directly to councils and other local bodies in Scotland. But the SNP have warned the promises will amount to real-terms cuts, not cash boosts.
The funding is expected to go towards community centres, local parks, shared spaces projects and other schemes "that make an obvious impact on regenerating a local community", the Telegraph has reported.
"We want people in Scotland to see where the butter comes from," one Cabinet minister told the paper.

Sound like bribes, using public spaces sounds like in kind donations, I have no idea what the impact of some vague notion of nationalism would have by displaying Flags

The EU had their flag plastered over plenty of stuff paid for with EU regeneration funds and it made no difference whatsoever in areas benefiting from that in the 2016 referendum.
As to the flag thing. I find that flag shaggers shut up pretty quickly when you point out where flags are manufactured.

(102,502 posts)4. BBC chief told to use 'more than one union jack' in annual report
Not Newsthump:
Tim Davie, the BBCs director-general, has been taken to task by a Conservative MP for failing to include images of the union jack in the corporations annual report.
After last weeks row between the Tories and the BBC over patriotic symbols, James Wild, the MP for North West Norfolk, told the head of the corporation that his constituents would expect to see more than one flag in the 268-page report.
Davie said the lack of a flag in a report was a strange metric by which to measure patriotism within the corporation, and pointed out that a union jack flew over Broadcasting House in central London.
The criticism followed a row last week after the BBC Breakfast presenter Charlie Stayt mocked the communities secretary Robert Jenrick at the end of an early morning interview.
