The cacophony of horns tonight in central London are something else

Not into football at all. Did not watch the match. But I love the fact that this 'woke' team is being celebrated so loudly as they reach the final. Maybe they will wake up the brains of some of those fans who booed them. Probably not but you never know. And to just to disturb you all cause I can and it is not three lions....

I read a fascinating article about the team earlier, about how the vast majority of them have an immigrant parent or grandparent.

Then I realized that I think it was you that posted the article

And all these xenophobic fuckers right now in power are trying to own this first, second and third generation immigrant team as their own. The twits are going to be very annoying! To whit..

The team had just either won the final cup or qualified for it (can't remember which). I was walking near Trafalgar Square one night on my way back to the hotel from dinner or a play and heard a large crowd. Curious, I went to see what was happening. One guy ended up taking off his clothes and streaking in the fountain.

I was clueless, but it obviously was a big deal.

Congratulations.

But then I went to work and found that quite a few other people had neighbours setting off fireworks!

Still, I dread to think what the drunken carnage would have been if England had done this 20 years ago with no pandemic and no risk of embarrassing pictures of celebrations ending up on social media!
