If Harkin(IA),Johnson(SD),and Rockefeller(WV) ran for re-election in 2014, Could they have won?

IA- Harkin-D vs Ernst-R?
SD- Johnson-D vs Rounds-R?
WV- Rockefeller-D vs Moore Capito-R?

How come MT Governor Bullock-D did not appoint his predecessor Brian Schweitzer-D to the US Senate in 2013 when Baucus-D resigned?

MT- Schweitzer-D vs Daines-R?

But Braley was a solid choice. Not only did we lose the Senate, we lost Braley's seat.to Blum. Everything Braley warned us about in his speech about Grassley leading the Judiciiary Committee has come true.
