Is it the conventions or something in the water?

2 weeks ago it seemed like things were ticking along apace. General wisdom was that Democrats will take presidency with good shot at senate.
Now it's as if Trump and the Republicans have mysteriously morphed somehow. And Biden MIGHT still get by in a squeaker but we maybe shouldn't hope for the senate any more. All while fundamentally nothing is different except for the passage of a few days.
It's like like some prop crew is moving the scenery around while the actors are still on stage. It's never good when the property master and the director are reading from different scripts.

Am I alone?

3. I can only assume that you are watching way too much cable infotainment.

Understand that their job is not to provide news or anything that might resemble journalism. It is to fill airtime between ads for drugs we never knew we needed. In order to do that they invoke the "horse race" narrative which will have the polls they choose to show getting tighter and tighter in order to keep your eyes glued to the screen so that they can do their job which is noted above.

Best thing to do is turn off the TV and read a book or go for a walk.

except DU. It was 538's poll phraseology that gave me pause. Today they say Biden is "slightly favored" to win the election. Last time I looked, maybe 4 days ago, it was simply "favored" to win. Needle moved 3 points in 4 days. 73% to 70% and 70% over 30% is "slightly favored?" What's that about?
Look, I could hardly stand up in Nov. 2016, like a punch in the gut, when the NPR woke me to say, via alarm clock, that Trump had won. No comment or acknowledgment of the unbelievability of it. Just, "we're a little surprised", from Inskeep. I just feel like we were all set up. Like at a carnival sideshow, "step right up, which shell has the pea young man?" Got taken for a ride. And maybe I feel like we lost mostly because of the setup and very little to do with voting or vote counting. Can't prove a thing but then neither can people a lot more qualified and in positions of power than I.
Is Schiff a hero or a Don Quixote wanna-be?
