States let partisan election boards in counties interpret many already murky laws on accepting mail ballots

Trump had states instal partisan officials to count mail in votes . https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/08/us/election-mail-in-ballot-rejection.html

Pennsylvania …: It lets partisan election boards in 67 counties interpret many already murky laws on accepting mail ballots, and even lets them decide whether voters should be allowed to fix mistakes.”

As Democrats struggled to come to terms with the results, claims were spread online that millions of votes had been lost or gone uncounted.
"Where did 20 million votes go when turnout was record-breaking?" one user posted on X, formerly Twitter. "There is no reasonable scenario in which we had record turnout for voting but there are 20 million votes missing. Both cannot be true."

“One of the most consequential battles, over whether counties should throw out thousands of misdated mail ballots, ended last week in a victory for Republicans when the state Supreme Court declined to hear an argument that such ballots should be counted. A legal quarrel over where voters can drop off mail ballots was decided in late September (efforts to limit drop-off points were batted down).”

Judge Sullivan is preparing to issue an order for OIG inspectors to sweep USPS processing facilities today that had low processing scores for ballots delivered yesterday -- including in
Florida, Georgia and Pennsylvania -- to make sure no mail-in ballots are left behind.
