www.safesear.ch
This safesearch has been inadvertently downloaded and has taken over my browsers and is the new homepage for them. I see that there ot of downloads that will purportedly get rid of it but just thought I'd see if anyone had a safe way to do this without compounding the problem. I'm running Windows 10.
Thanks in advance...

I've gotten rid of most everything but am left now with a bar of ads on the right side of my firefox page when I have DU open. Some of the ads go to paidout.brain but I can't find any reference to it on my machine...

(5,966 posts)You can download AdwCleaner safely from Bleeping Computer: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/
It should take care of the ads. Instructions are on the page. Just download and run.
If that doesn't work try Emsisoft Emergency Kit, also at Bleeping Computer: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/emsisoft-emergency-kit/

(3 posts)I had the same annoying problem with you that the homepage was changed to safesearch. It took me lots of time to reinstall browser, change browser settings and check the installed programs on the PC and an internet tutorial helped me out in the end. It's horrible. I could save time and effort If I found the program mentioned by bleeping blog earlier. So you can remove it easily if you use the right way.
