Synching a playlist to a smartphone (updated)
Hello everybody, I could use some advice on this.
I recently upgraded my car; it has Bluetooth and I can now connect my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy 5S) to the car. Which is very good... mostly.
For year I had been using an iPod Nano to listen to things (usually podcasts) via earbuds. Now, given that my car can stream from my phone via Bluetooth, I've finally decided to try to retire the iPod and switch completely over to my smartphone. Car, earbuds, whatever, I want to use my smartphone and relegate my iPod to emergency car music.
So, I have an extensive podcast playlist already... I have about 8 podcasts I keep current on and when I'm caught up with them I'm trying to cut into a 3½ year backlog of "Minority Report with Sam Sedar" and "Rachel Maddow".
I want to export both this playlist and the files the list refers to to my smartphone. However, iTunes will not recognize my smartphone as a synch-able device. My Windows Media Player recognized my smartphone, but I can't figure out how to make it see the playlist from iTunes.
None of the export options for iTunes (there are 4 of them) are recognized by Media Player!
How best to go about doing this?
I'm running Windows XP machine, I have iTunes 10.7 on it (I refuse to upgrade after the upgrade made doing what I want to do 10x harder), Windows Media Player11, and a Galaxy 5S phone.
Thanks in advance!
Update:
Wait a minute, I think I got it.
iTunes exports playlists to "*.m3u" format, which I can drag into the Media Player's "Sync List". I think I have it... will update if successful.
