Wow...latest Windows10 update taking FOREVER to install

1. Mine updates overnight

While I'm asleep. I was nervous about this one as I had read that many people weren't able to log back on but I had no problems. What I DO hate is I'm always finding something new and huge in my Task Manager list. Then I have to look up what it is to see if it's something I really need. It really takes up time that I don't have to spare right now. Grrrrr.

2. It's just a little maddening.

I needed to use my computer this morning and tried to log on...

Been sitting here for 50 minutes, and it's at 54%.

4. must be the new anniversary update

It is quite a big one and adds a few new features.

5. I am pretty sure you need to manually install the anniversary upgrade.

it is rolling out slowly. You just have to be one of the people that gets picked. You can install it manually though if you don't want to wait.

3. Yes, there is something in the last batch of win10 updates

that does take a while.

It is unfortunate that the updates screen does not get refreshed as often as it should.
However, if you turn on the "resource monitor" you can see what is going on.
