Restore with no restore points?

Is there a way to force a two day old date into system restore so I can undo all the crap that was a result of the latest firefox update? The update just came out a few days ago. Just a couple things on it. Nothing huge or drastic. Got tired of the reminders and updated.

Entire look of firefox changed and I absolutely can't stand to look at it. For some reason Win7 x 64 isn't saving restore dates. So, I have none to go back to. I've been trying to get it back to where I had it customized before but, everything seems off. Sizing, fonts, ability to move tool bars, etc.

I do have a copy of my HD on a thumb drive from about 5 months ago but, a lot has changed as far as saved bookmarks, docs, etc. So, I do have my old firefox profile if that matters. But a simple 2 day old restore would be soooooo perfect. I've changed so many other things trying to get the same look that I don't think a profile is going to do much with that. Hell, I don't know....Any way to do this?

Edit: Since I'm a moron I also did the firefox refresh thing. I think that's what made things even worse...

1. I had that problem once and I think I did it by using a feature in the restore that allows making

a date. Can't remember how though. I think it was in safe mode.

4. Lots of options

But if you don't have a restore point saved, that's not one of them sadly. You could trawl through your settings and increase the size of the cache of restore points.

Options:
1. Grab a copy of MozBackup http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/ and back up your current profile. Only bookmarks and passwords - better to reinstall add-ons.

2. Install an older version of Firefox from oldversion.com but beware, some stuff just won't work with older versions.

3. Do a complete uninstall of Firefox using Revo Uninstaller, delete profile, everything and start again using your MozBackup files. You will have to start Firefox just once, to create a profile to restore to.

4. Investigate some of the current cosmetic add-ons for Firefox. I use Squared Tabs; Tabs on Bottom; Theme font & Size changer; Tab Mix Plus, Buttons Back. There are a heap of them that will restore the 'old' look of Firefox.

In general, I think it's less of a headache to keep Firefox & addons updated as it's too much of a system shock to get all the updates in one big hit.

5. Google this ... "firefox classic theme restorer".

It's an add-on that allows newer versions of FF to use older embedded code, which will restore aspects of the user interface to previous versions.

Specifically, I use this to have FF use the old version of the search field, instead of the new one where they attempt to put Yahoo in your face.

6. That's one I had been using!

But lost and forgot about it when I messed this whole thing up. And, by did I find out about the Yahoo crap in a hurry! Thank You!!

Would it be possible to just delete the profile that has been 'refreshed' with one that I have saved from a few months ago? After saving bookmarks and addons?

I also can't right click on something I highlight on the net now either.

7. I would definitely try to transplant the profile.

The particular profile (and it's location) is specified in this file ...

C:\Users<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefoxprofiles.ini

This file can be edited by the user.

So, instead of erasing the current non-working profile, put the refresh profile in a convenient location and then set the value in profiles.ini.

This is what mine looks like ...

Note that if you change the pathname, you must use the "\" character instead of "/".

I like having my profile in a place where it can be easily backed up.

8. 99% home free

Threw the older profile in the profile folder and was back in biz. All bookmarks, etc were still there. A few minor annoyances having to do with me trying to make the 'new' Firefox more eye pleasing. Boy, that "Refresh" was a joke. They'll never be able to leave well enough alone, I guess.

9. For appearance, I like the "Dark Fox" skin.

I like when windows are generally darker in color.

Try googling "Dark Fox."

System restore has to be both enabled and configured for specific drives. If it's broken, you might have to reinstall Windows.

When it's a problem, usually it's because it's turned off.

I have a love-hate relationship with Windows. But, ever since Win 10, it's been more hate.

10. Too dark for my eyes

I've made sure that all settings are correct for System Restore. Unless I missed something. I've googled to death info on making sure it was set up correctly. Don't have a disk to reinstall with at the moment.
