Need New Free Anti-Virus Software
I had been using AVG on my previous, broken computer which I liked. When I tried to download it onto my new computer, they wanted to charge me.

(3,988 posts)which has windows defender built in. Type defender at ask me anything and
you'll get a link to it. You have to uninstall any other AV to use it tho.

(7,543 posts)I believe windows defender runs live automatically in the background. Use Malwarebytes manually as a secondary scan and removal tool.

(92,678 posts)and had only one issue that was a virus/trojan horse worm thing that killed m last laptop, that was over 7 years ago. Have had no problems with this one and it's the one I replaced last one with. Avast also warns you when you try to open something that is a threat to your computer without opening the suspect page.
