(Not as in deceptive.) There are often redirects, which may be a process that takes a measurable amount of time and is not visible. It looks like your computer is just dead, but there is a process going on that is sending your computer from the purchase site to the download site without any message telling you what is happening.

Sometimes, also, the download connection will take time to process and, again, there is no message telling you to wait for the download to start.

In both cases, since it is happening at the source, not at your computer, there is not the usual "hourglass cursor" that signals you to wait, but there is a process that will be completed and will result in download. I've had that process be as long as two minutes or so.
