Has anybody had any experience with SysWOW64 bug?

adware.

My antivirus program (AVG) keeps telling me it's blocked a website, but obviously there's an infection it's not removing. Looking online for removal tools, I'm seeing Malwarebytes as an option. I'd be interested in something I don't have to shell out a wad of green$$ for, thought I would consult this board for ideas.

Appreciate hearing your experiences.

Malwarebytes has a free version, works great, hidden on site, need to look hard to find it. tableturner Feb 2018 #1

I know nothing at all about the bug but I hope you get it fixed.
I know what the SysWOW64 directory is for but that's all.

I searched to find more info but see anything helpful. Sorry

Plus I use their free 'JRT' (Junkware Removal Tool).

The Malwarebytes website says they have discontinued 'updating' JRT and replaced it with something else.

But I found the new 'tool' does anything,
while JRT continues to find and fix problems.

I don't know why it was replaced with a 'new tool' that doesn't work.

I use JRT weekly.

That is, it's trying to use an unknown 32 bit application (probably ActiveX) on your 64 bit system. If it's only happening on one website, I wouldn't worry about it.

It's popping up almost hourly, very annoying.

Maybe I have found a solution, we will see......
