I will have multiple tabs going 'connecting' forever on Firefox, but have even more tabs on Chrome all going through all pages like a hot knife through butter at the same time.

Try it on Chrome.

Make sure you have the latest version....check their support pages for solutions @ support.mozilla.org

have a word between "https//www" and ".democraticunderground"? If so, remove it.

There are a few sub-domains set up for the website that the admins use for various purposes. They don't have security certificates because they're not intended for general use. They can sometimes cause issues with the browser's security check.

I posted about it back in December. I was not able to fix it. I just tried downloading the newest version of FF to see if it would work, and no luck. I have been using chrome instead.
