Unable to open Democratic Underground on Firefox

Windows 7 computer the problem just started today
Says secure connection failed SSL Error unknown alert any help appreciated still opens on my cell phone and Internet Explorer

1. Firefox can be goofy sometimes

I will have multiple tabs going 'connecting' forever on Firefox, but have even more tabs on Chrome all going through all pages like a hot knife through butter at the same time.

Try it on Chrome.

4. I'm using Firefox right now on a Windows 7 laptop....no issues at all.

Make sure you have the latest version....check their support pages for solutions @ support.mozilla.org

6. By any chance, does the url you are using...

have a word between "https//www" and ".democraticunderground"? If so, remove it.

There are a few sub-domains set up for the website that the admins use for various purposes. They don't have security certificates because they're not intended for general use. They can sometimes cause issues with the browser's security check.

At home works fine
Something's got to be corrupted on the work computer

9. I think this is the same as the problem I have had.

I posted about it back in December. I was not able to fix it. I just tried downloading the newest version of FF to see if it would work, and no luck. I have been using chrome instead.
