Weird question about a problem with Facebook

If I try to post anything, the screen grays out and then the comment box completely disappears. I can respond to anyone else's post - just can't initiate any of my own. I have changed nothing, and things were working just fine, last night.

Anyone else ever have this happen? I've send them a 'problem' report but who know if/when they will respond.

2. My first thought was, am I under 'review' for something I posted?

And then I realized that, logically ( ) FB would likely let me know that someone has filed a complaint.

Also wondered if it was a problem with my old laptop, but the same thing happened on my iPad.

5. If you have a 1st or 2nd gen iPad, the Facebook app may not work well for you.

I have a 1st gen one and have to access FB through my browser when using it.

6. I use the iPad when I travel and I can sign in to FB

I have to have the kids explain 'apps' to me.

Apparently there was some sort of massive issue. I just tried, again, and was able to post. I did find a good website for tracking FB outages.

3. I've seen other people

elsewhere today say they can't post at Facebook. So there seems to be some sort of widespread glitch going on.

It's my niece's birthday and she has a fund raiser so hopefully thing straighten out so I can make a donation. I have NO confidence in doing that until all is working as normal, that's for sure.

I am not a regular FB user, I like to post pics of my kids for out of state relatives, but it won't let me post anything today, it goes gray for me too with a little x in the upper corner to X out, but that's it.

I used my phone to get a post started, with only me set and posted. Then finished it up with an edit on my PC. It was my daily post reminding of a gun violence victim. I thought that I could have been a victim of bogus complaints. Guess not.
