with your original purchase receipt for the Apple device and the device. At least I had to do that with an iPad.

Itunes only Apple with receipt and id.

If from Apple Store, go to them. Either will likely help you provided you have a valid photo I'd and they can look up the record/sale via the serial number.

password. Started going down and when I saw they wanted my SS number, I emailed Apple and found out it was a scam. The other red flag was when I tried to click on link at top of "official" web site, nothing happened. Apple had me send them a screen shot of email.
