Lets pretend Im the dumbest Human Being on the Planet: HDMI Question.
So, I plugged an HDMI cord into the back of my tv and into to my computer, and it worked, but the image
on my tv was all sort of stretched out, I went to watch an episode of Blackish that I had saved on my
computer. I double click, and it came up on my computer perfectly, but on my TV it was like the botton
bit of the screen was cut off.
Example: Junior was standing up in a scene you could see all of him on the computer, but on the tv only his top half.
Is their a really simple way of fixing this.
Im not a computer guy.

(22,849 posts)On a Mac, go to System Preferences (under the Apple menu) and select Displays. You will have a choice of Default or Scaled; choose Scaled and you'll get a list of different Scalings for different displays. Choose the one that works best for your TV/monitor.
I'm not a PC user but I'm certain there is a similar setting in Windows.
Good luck, computer guy! (wink)

(4,261 posts)First is settings> display or through the control panel in older windows.
Second you have the correct protocol/HDMI cord like it's set to 1.4 for a 1.4 cord?

(34,195 posts)I'm thinking it could be the setting (for 'picture') on your TV.

(49,445 posts)There are usually about 5 options for picture size, like 4:3, 16 : 9, auto, zoom, etc.
There should be a button on your remote that lets you switch between them. On my Samsung TV it's labeled "P.Size".
Or you might have to go into the menu and find the picture size submenu.
