I'm buying a new laptop

Current one is about 5 years old and I've had one problem after another, each coming on quicker.

One question came to mind:
Will my IP address change with the new laptop?

2. Unless you're paying for a fixed IP, I would think it could change. Generally your ISP

uses DHCP. My IP address, for example, is always changing.

DHCP = Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol

The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a network management protocol used on UDP/IP networks whereby a DHCP server dynamically assigns an IP address and other network configuration parameters to each device on a network so they can communicate with other IP networks.[1] A DHCP server enables computers to request IP addresses and networking parameters automatically from the Internet service provider (ISP), reducing the need for a network administrator or a user to manually assign IP addresses to all network devices.[1] In the absence of a DHCP server, a computer or other device on the network needs to be manually assigned an IP address, or to assign itself an APIPA address, which will not enable it to communicate outside its local subnet.

3. Stay away from Lenovos

They are junk now. I have older ones that still work great one with Windows XP’ and 7. But I have brought 2 Lenovo’s in the last year that have crashed and I couldn’t get them to reboot. Bought a HP which is more stable.

13. Hey I love my older computers. Be sure to keep both, Vista has a lot of good features.

Features that came included with Vista, that don't come included in later windows versions.
