Help!!!!
The elections are Tuesday and I cant log into the Internet. Logged on to my computer this afternoon and hit the icon to bring up the menu and the icon disappeared. Hit a couple times, now the little blue circle just keeps spinning and spinning and spinning this been going on for two hours now. Since the menu was not available I cant log off or reboot.
I have a notebook HP. Any suggestions? I did try pulling the battery and shutting off the computer it allows me to log back in but when I get to the screen the blue thing just keeps spinning.
TIA

(49,445 posts)Mine somehow fell off of automatic payments when I moved and they cut my service until I paid by phone.
Step two, unplug the router and cable modem. Wait a few seconds, then plug them back in. Your modern should be up and connected in a couple of minutes.

(1,990 posts)But here are a couple of ideas. Do you know how to boot in safe mode? What kind of machine did you use to post this message? Also, I believe it is possible to boot in safe mode, only with networking. I don't remember offhand how to boot in safe mode, maybe someone with more exertise in this kind of problem remembers.

(139 posts)Probably a Windows-something machine? My advice till you take it to a shop to get it fixed: Go to your nearest public library till the election is over. Ours have free Internet access (including Wi-Fi access) & that will get you through the election. After that, look for a good repair shop.
