started this morning, have tried restarting, got some updates and restarted again. pages have only text like when things load really slow, but are actually loading ok. sites seem mostly functional just no images and the text is all basic and on the left of the screen.
can't load a screen shot I took to imgur - gives me an error code of "server responded with 0 code" WTF?
the only site that seems to work correctly is NOAA??? https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lon=-110.10521&lat=32.02294#.VOtnSS7-UcY
is this a Firefox problem? I have windows 7 pro and not sure what firefox version (need refresher to find that info?)

(33,643 posts)Could also try Chrome.
Let us know if same thing happens. Betting it doesn't.
If you are attached to FF and only that browser has the issue, then I'd grab the latest version from Mozilla and install it (just install over your current copy so you don't risk losing bookmarks and such).

Put this in browser bar:
about:preferences#privacy
then click 'clear data' under Cookies and Site data
In Popup Window, Uncheck "Cookies and Site Data", leaving "Cached Web Content" checked.
Then proceed to clear.

(55,737 posts)this is very strange. it is almost like I somehow inadvertently clicked some setting that I can not find or get back to, but what could it be? I have been checking and unchecking everything in those settings that sounded remotely like display or whatever, but nothing changes.

(33,643 posts)Disable them one by one and recheck ...

(7,598 posts)Either that or your requests are timing out.
server responded with 0 code problem
The text problem (complex websites loading only text) is usually a problem with your ISP or web connection -- reboot your modem and router. Sometimes it's a problem with the website, but if it's every website it's either your modem or ISP.

(55,737 posts)I just got Internet Explorer opened and running and DU seems fine but things are slow to load, for sure. images and videos are showing, though. will try rebooting the router in a bit. but kind of looks like it was something to do with firefox?
when I went to your link I got this:
Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot. Why did this happen?

I just searched Google for results based on 'server responded with a zero code', popped up with ten relevant hits, especially Stack Overflow, a place that has solved a lot of problems for me. That was the link, the google search page. When I click it now that's exactly what I get.
I wonder if you haven't been hacked, and something is sucking up all your bandwidth. Don't forget about the big Russian router hack everyone warned about a few months ago. Reboot solves it, as I recall.

(55,737 posts)maybe it was a thing because I just started the new browser, don't think I ever opened it on this computer??? IE seems to be working but Firefox has not been fixed by a new version (if it even loaded - I can't tell what the hell is going on now!)
I was able to upload the image that wouldn't work in FF -

(7,598 posts)I always thought it was a server-based problem, but maybe it's a speed issue with yours, not sure.
Reboot that modem and router. And try Chrome -- substantially more stable. Firefox is good for anonymity, but Chrome's got the goods.
And if you haven't run a virus check lately -- now's the time.
Kali
(55,737 posts)sure is strange! I will use IE for now, not ready to deal with another browser. thanks for trying!
Kali
(55,737 posts)see above, disabling that seems to have fixed the problem. strange, no idea why that would suddenly start ruining most web pages.
