Argh... pop ups and links

So I got a bug that inserts ads like this: https://www.screencast.com/t/j88okVTc

and turns individual words into links: https://www.screencast.com/t/z0Bhomkux8 that produce similar ads when you hover your mouse over the word.

I've run malwarebytes and ccleaner numerous times.

What else can I do?

3. Well...

I ran Hitman and it found no threats, but found 2130 traces. Don't know if removing the "traces" would have any effect, but it would cost $25 to do that. And the bug persists.

4. Step 4?

Your screen shot from Hitman showed "no threat" no need to try 30 Day free trial. Did you go to steps 4 thru 6?

5. When I click on "next" in that screen shot

it just takes me to a page to purchase the software... no steps 4-6

7. Ah...

When Hitman didn't respond as expected (never got the option to activate free trial) I stopped.

It *appears* that the next step, running Zemana, may have done the trick!!
