Need to Switch Out of Microsoft S Mode on new HP laptop.
In the Store there are steps for this, but commenters & articles say it doesn't work. (M. is doing nothing to fix it).
If it can be done, can I retain Edge?
Any new computers made without S Mode (other than Apple)?
Thanks in advance. Basic user that likes things basic.

(15,700 posts)Took my HP laptop to my local computer people and they fixed it. Don't know how easy it is to do yourself.

(42,912 posts)I lucked onto a poster, a tech expert who gave easy to follow directions. And voila! it worked, quite easy to do.
*I noted the steps if anyone needs them, but for the life of me I can't find his original post in the 3 articles I saved.
Thanks much for your reply, glad you found folks to fix it. Repair places are far out and slim pickings in this area.

For the OP, here's an article covering S Mode that is worth reading.
