Windows keeps removing the Firefox shortcut from my task bar
This is a weird one. On one of my computers Windows keeps removing the Firefox icon from my task bar. It is an older (2011) HP desktop running Windows 10. It doesn't happen on another HP desk top nor on my laptop.
When it happens the icon turns to a white rectangle and no longer works. I delete it then drag the Firefox icon on the desktop down to the task bar to add it back. I have the lock task bar choice checked in settings.

Not really a Windows issue per se, but Hotmail has Skype embedded in it and it always shows 'available' so I have to check mail on my phone during the day to avoid chatting.
Looking forward to going back to Macs after 12 years of Windows. (Windows 7 was great, W10 not so much).

(4,298 posts)I keep hoping the next update of Windows will fix it but it doesn't. I know Windows keeps trying to jam Edge browser down my throat but I hate it. I have been using Firefox as my browser for at least 15 years.
I almost replaced this PC last year because it was getting slow but I tried an SSD upgrade and it worked very well.

(908 posts)remove the current icon from the taskbar (right-click, unpin from taskbar), then launch Firefox from the Start menu. Once it's running, it's icon should now be in the task bar. Right-click on it, select pin to taskbar.
