Should I get the JAVA update?
I have Windows 10 on my desktop.
Every day I get a little pop-up notification that a JAVA update is ready to install.
Should I do it?
Thanks..

(33,643 posts)1. You should either remove Java, or do the update, yes
If you really don't know why you have Java on your computer, I'd remove it and see what happens. You can always put it back.

Years ago I knew what it was but not now..

(33,643 posts)4. If you don't know why you have it on there, I would uninstall it.
If something important breaks, then re-install it (with the latest version).
It FOR SURE isn't like going to stop your computer from booting or anything severe.
If you don't have Java in the list of programs on your machine, after seeing that message, I'd be a little alarmed.
