Should I update my WINDOWS 10 to "21H1?"

I did a google search and barely understand any of it.
BUT- I don;t have a camera, so I don;t need a camera upgrade.
I don't need news and sports 'widgets' in the new bigger task bar. In fact I don;t need a new task bar.

well, looks like I may have answered my question myself in answering your question..

My computer DOES do the standard updates automatically....

2. in general you should wait on feature updates until update starts yelling at you.

There is no rush on feature updates. Security updates are a different story. You should apply those asap.

The 'feature' 21h1 update does yell every week or so and I just tell it to go back to sleep..

But yes - I just leave the security settings at the default, and ignore feature updates until I'm willing to suffer the consequences.
Also there is nothing much in 20H1, and no huge upgrade disasters, so its pretty safe to allow it.

6. Can't say I noticed a difference.

I immediately got rid of that ridiculous news and sports updates craplet, and I'm running the old Start button so maybe that's why.

Can't stand all these attention-grabbing hyperactive craplets with rotating squares. Any more of that sort of thing, and I'm going to Linux.

7. Just be careful

One of the Windows 10 feature updates bricked an old laptop. I wound up doing a clean re-install of Windows, which finally solved the problem.

The advice is: back-up your data files like docs, pix, music, videos etc. Hopefully, all should be fine. However, Microsoft needs to make hassle-free updates, and that's not always the case.

12. My experience with W10 is similar.

For this reason, I have 7 computers at home all running W8.1.

The config is very stable. I can clone the drive from one computer, put it in another, and have an instantly fully functioning new computer.

My startup time was much longer on W10 than with W8.
