Uggh.Firefox v91.0 brought back the dreaded bookmark double space & previous solution not working
This happened with a previous update and this solution below worked THEN but NOT NOW:Does anyone have an alternative solution?
For testing purposes, the developers left a preference in Firefox 89 to switch between new style and old style menus:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.
(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste browser.proton.contextmenus.enabled and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the preference to switch between true (new style) and false (old style)

(18,122 posts)"You should be using....." but I'm gonna say it. Switch to Waterfox https://www.waterfox.net/download/
I did several months ago at the suggestion of a poster in this group and couldn't be happier. To use it is like Firefox in it's heyday. All my Firefox add-ons and extensions work. Bookmarks imported like a dream.
I used Firefox from it's first release but it became too much of a pain.

(11,444 posts)Sounds like they're getting worse. Only issues with 88.0.1 are that annoying pop-up asking me to update and missing out on security updates.

(224 posts)I've been using the linked solution myself and it works well for me. I use it on both of my Firefox Nightly build installations on Windows 10 and Kubuntu Linux. The green "Code" button will allow you to download the zip file. I use the manual installation technique listed further down the page. I have not used the installation script though.

(15,007 posts)Then all of sudden they were back. What I hate and tried all the suggestions to get rid is the inclusion of search in the address bar. Just spent another wasted hour trying to get rid of it with no luck? Any fresh suggestions? Thanks.
