Does anyone know what has happened to Malwarebytes?
I keep getting a notice that my browser cannot open the service.

(950 posts)That can cause problems with all sorts of programs, as does updating Windows. Make sure you have the latest version of Malwarebytes installed since updates can break it.

(6,261 posts)I have the free version installed on three machines in the house and they all work fine. I just tried again.
At no point, though, is my browser involved at all, so I'm wondering what your setup is exactly. Are you running the free-standing program, or are you running it in the browser or on a phone or something?

(13,172 posts)Figured getting frequent updates was worthwhile on a malware program. At the time, it was a one time cost with no annual fees etc

I went to their website. It is working on both MS Edge and Firefox. But, I do know a full update was downloaded a couple of weeks before.
BTW, I am having a lot of problems with Firefox blocking things from opening lately, despite spending time making sure it wasn't some hidden adblocker feature or a problem with Norton or Malwarebytes. These sites function properly under Edge conversely. I don't know who is making decisions as Firefox, but they are destroying the damned browser imo.
