What is this new icon that is now in the taskbar search window in Windows 10?
And how do you get rid of it? It is redundant. It has little sports symbols.

It just appeared with the latest update. It's right in the search box.

That's tacked onto Win 10, you can right click the task bar and read the context menu for any new items that you don't recognise and are turned on. Hopefully there will be an off switch.
Look particularly in the second section from the top of the context menu - under 'Search'.

Most of the icons on the taskbar are options.

It's some cute new thing to Windows 10 and 11.
In Windows 10, meanwhile, all you need to do is right-click on your search bar, and uncheck Show Search Highlights.
under "search".
