$59 bucks a month? I have been for years now. You get all the latest updates and you're always current.

It's diabolical. No more skipping upgrades and Adobe gets a constant revenue stream. But I'm sure you know all this.

Like the OP, I keep a machine that runs CS6. I absolutely will never buy any product that comes with a subscription. I bought Affinity Photo, which I run on my other machines. For a 1-time price if $49, I paid less for a 100% Photoshop clone that I’d pay for a month subscription with Adobe. Adobe can take a flying leap. They’re thieves, always have been. The only reason I still keep one copy of CS6 running, is that every so often I miss the interface - Affinity is super similar, but just so slightly different that I sometimes feel jarred when I reach for a tool. They also make a clone of Illustrator and InDesign, both absolutely equivalent without the thievery.

There is a bit of a learning curve, but there are videos.

It is called Gimp.

I was able to use it to put out a book cover for a self-published book. Layers is what was important to me, and it supports Layers, and tons of things that I also see in newer versions of Photoshop.

Funny name. But it is free (I think they take donations)

Acrobat and InDesign occasionally.Another poster in this thread seems to have found a workaround to Adobe's heavy hand.

I prefer inkscapes over illustrator I use them for vector drawing for machining on cnc.

Gimp is a great replacement for Photoshop.

They are both free.

you have to have a cloud subscription to download it.
they're offering a free trial. i might just put it on the new machine, and say fuck it.
some files i'll have to transfer, but...
that machine is a tad wonky, anyway.

but damn, i just wanted to print out a little sign.
