What's going on here?
This is a picture of a couple of notices from Malwarebytes. What are these things? What do they do? How did they get on my computer?
Also... I thought a link to an imgur picture would cause the picture to show up on DU. How do I get a picture to show?

(106,338 posts)Every attempt to search google, almost every click of ANY link. I finally had to turn off malwarebytes and had sent a message inquiring as to what is going on.
Whatever outbound traffic from my computer is somehow deemed to be to a malware site, even though Norton full scan has found nothing.
Very bizarre. I thought it was linked to some participation I've had with YouGov surveys and sent them ann inquiry as well, but...?

Are you suddenly getting a lot of alerts from your Malwarebytes app? Are Google-owned websites and services suddenly not working anymore, perhaps even including the browser, Google Chrome? Its not just you.
Many Malwarebytes users are currently experiencing these problems, and currently, theres only one fix disabling the software entirely. The question is, where does the problem lie? Is Google truly compromised or is Malwarebytes just broken right now?
Update: Malwarebytes has announced that the issue is now resolved and issued a software update. However, some people are still reporting problems. If youre experiencing issues, try to update your copy of Malwarebytes.
Malwarebytes error message.

Having trouble accessing Google.com this morning? Google isnt down, but it might have to do with Malwarebytes being used on your device.
Update: Malwarebytes says this issue has been resolved, though the fix may take time to roll out to all users. The company has yet to offer an exact explanation as to what caused this problem.

(33,643 posts)This will give you a URL with .jpg at the end. DU knows how to handle that as a photo. Without that extension (or gif or png) this old forum software (by technology's standards) has no way of knowing it's a photo at the end of the URL, so just shows it as a link.

Long press on the image, then copy link
paste the link in your message
The link should look like this without the spaces
notice the .png (or .jpg or .gif etc) at the end:
https: //i.imgur.com/C8LwkDK .png
Then your image will show like this:
