Regarding images not showing up

and did some follow-up but then ran out of steam.

Revisiting the issue today because I have a solid lead.

It seems the issue is relates to the hosting site postimg.cc .

I have gone into site settings (Brave browser) and added an exception for postimg.cc for javascript and autoplay, but still not working.

The site uses https so it isn't that.

Here's what the code looks like in a post containing an image I cannot see (brackets replaced with parentheses to view code):

I'm sure it views fine in other browsers, so this is specific to Brave. Anyone here use Brave who can verify that images show up in DU posts?

Any ideas I haven't yet tried, before I go to the Brave community?

At least that eliminates it being specific to DU.

6. I use the Brave browser for my threads and I rarely have problems posting images.

The one thing that I see with the code that you posted above is that it doesn't include a .jpg or .png extension. Are you certain that the images are displayed when using another browser?

The most recent problem that I had posting images is that they were using the Webp format which isn't recognized by DU.

BTW, your cat is a beautiful owner.

But since others do, it seems specific to something in my configuration of Brave.

If I didn't have fifteen billion tabs opened (my version of "bookmarks" lol) I would simply reinstall Brave.....

10. The Cat. Easy peasy. And the stamps

Click the "postimg.cc" link above. Click the right button menu (Apple droids do the equivalent) and select Show Image in New Tab (or window). Then go to the tab/window and grab the URL at the top. Paste that.

12. If you don't see the cat and the two stamps, then it is your browser

Twitter images do not show up, because DU, unlike how it used to, does not offer an image tag, but instead interprets PNG and JPG file endings a the trigger to show a link as an image.

Twitter does not directly use PNG/JPG, so DU does not detect it.

If you don't see the image at the hoster when right clicking, it could be a double click, which bounces you back to the hoster page link not the image link. Try that again if it is a problem.
