I keep getting notifications on my computer from McAfee
15 or 20 a day.
All bogus.
"You have 5 viruses"
"Your payment did not go through"
"Your account will be cancelled"
etc., etc.
I don't use McAfee and I don't have any viruses, at least according to Microsoft.
Any way to block these?

Scammers will not respect your wishes to unsubscribe. Their email address is already spoofed by the time you get it.
You are just telling them that there is a live person at the other end of that email and they'll sign you up for ten more lists.
Really! This is how it works.

(7,545 posts)I recommend the free version of CCleaner for Windows to remove bloatware. McCaffee puts stuff all over the place. Browser extensions, start up items. CCleaner consolidates those locations for you. Once you've removed the software and rebooted, you can run the registry cleaner if it doesn't make you nervous.
