What is the best free site for people searching?

I've had pretty good luck with Spokeo as they have filters so you pare it down.

There are two girls from high school (1960's) that I have been searching for with no luck. They seem to have disappeared off the planet - and I even checked the obits.

Thanks for any advice.

To find old school friends, many years ago. The site (Friends Reunited) has apparently closed down, but while searching for it, this search result appeared. It may be of some help to you.

...and you know where they attended, you might try the school's alumni office. I have also found people through, of all things, property tax records. (But to use those, you have to have some idea where they might be.)

Do you have names of any relatives? They might be easier to find, and perhaps could give you info to find them.

Suggestions from my experience looking for folks.

Try doing a search on their maiden names, and you should find their married last name.

A couple of months ago, while searching I discovered that one of my cousins got married at the age of 16. I Never knew anything about that marriage.
