A possible issue with malware? Pixel 6 Pro

The other day, I was browsing the Google reader on Pixel. I saw a story that interested me and clicked on it....I got a warning that my phone was infected and click link to fix...it had the Google G sign, so I assumed that this was Google, but it wasn't. I realized that and backed out of the window. Shut down and rebooted the phone. Works fine, but I am getting a couple of dozen notifications with various headlines and logo's (Google G and Nortons as well as others). I can swipe to remove, but this doesn't stop the malware from eventually reloading these messages in the notification section again.

Is there a Google app in the store that will disinfect my phone? Went to Verizon this AM, but they were no help in fixing my problem. I suppose I can wipe the phone and reload from backup, but is that my only solution?

I'm kinda pissed that a Google curated reader is allowing malware to infect their user's phones.

And the ad servers don’t catch many of those especially if it was a third party ad.
