can't figure out how to get a photo from my iphone..

....to the MY CHART system, to send to my dr.

It's in the gallery on my phone.

I also retrieved it into FB to see if I could upload from there.

Nah.

Any clues? I have to save it as a digital file, I guess, but don't know how to do that.

Thanks in advance.

1. Are you just using your phone?

If there's a link on the page for an attachment to be added, send the photo to yourself via email, then save it as a file on your computer. Should be able to add it or even drag and drop from there.

Thank you for asking this, Grasswire.

I am not iphone savvy at all and on the rare occasion I take a photo I need to keep or do anything with other than attach to an email out of the iphone itself, I end up just emailing to myself from the iphone, and then opening my email on my computer, and working with it there. And then, if needed, emailing back to myself to access from the iphone.

Which is a bit roundabout and tedious.

curiously,

3. Do you have a desktop computer (or a laptop)?

If so, you can enable Bluetooth on either of those, and AirDrop the photo from your iPhone.

In Photos, select the image (click on Select, then the image) and click the Share icon (box with an up arrow, on my iPad it's in the lower left), In a few seconds, you should see your other device listed. Click on it and hit Send. You will need to accept the file on your desktop or laptop. It should download to your Downloads folder.

6. okay, I guess the problem is that I don't have my email active on my iphone.

...so can't do it that way.

I would just use my digital Canon to take a photo but something is wrong with the SD receptacle on that camera. A damaged SD card harmed it somehow, a while ago.

8. If you don't have email configured on the phone

it will ask you to do so when you try to email.

Airdrop will work. But I suggest trying the app (see below) especially for security reasons.

11. You can do it thru mychart, when you send a message thru my chart. No Mail involved at all.

Apple Mail isn’t involved at all. Everything is done in mychart.

See below. It is easy to attach a picture from your iPhone’s photo library to a my chart message.

I’ll say again call your doc’s office for help w mychart if you can’t figure it out. I am concerned you are thinking it is much harder than it actually is!

Take care!

5. There's an app for that ...

Just out of curiosity, I looked up My Chart (Epic software) and saw that there is an app for the phone.

PRESUMABLY, messaging your provider is done in a secure way, not via common messaging (iMessage or SMS/MMS), so the devil's in the details. My Chart says you can upload 5 attachments.

(From Cleveland Clinic, which uses it)

Looking at the app description, the most common reply is to contact Epic at MyChartSupport@epic.com

(source: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mychart/id382952264 )

Kindly note that people have gotten into BIG trouble for sending medical photos over the customary channels. (like email etc.)
I would do so only within the app, where presumably it's securely encrypted and available only to your medical provider.

10. My My Chart allows you to attach images to messages.

Click the image link, navigate to you “Photos”, select the picture you want. Then My Chart will confirm you want to attach it.

Your’s may work differently. I suggest you call your doctors office and get them to help you if you can’t figure it out.
