A nice person suggested I post this here

It's been a rough week.

Anywho, I quickly picked up my phone, and my finger must have hit something to the right of my screen while my bellsouth email was open. A blue, horizontal bar popped up, one thing it read was "snooze" I cannot replicate this no matter what I do. Its bellsouth email. So, freaking out, I DIDNT touch anything on the blue horizontal bar. I just closed my email app. I'm just worried I may have done something like block or snooze imp emails. I'm so worried I messed something up.

I'm too dumb to even articulate what it was, or take a screenshot of it. If anyone has any idea of anything, TIA. best, XD

And poke around you might find a button to push or toggle to switch. Fear not. If I can figure these things out, anyone can!

And I just looked at mine, and cannot find any snooze option, and I looked under every option available to me . My version is fairly up to date.
If I were you I would look in my trash folder and see if any important msgs are there that you didn’t put there. Also check all your folders, like drafts, sent etc.

As last resort send a general msg to one of your important contacts or the one you may have thought you ‘snoozed’. Explain what you fear happened and ask for a general reply … hopefully they will cooperate

I’ve had a few spam msgs from “bellsouth” saying my email would be locked if I didn’t respond to “them”. … when I checked the headers I saw a spam address and sent them to my spam folder. But I also sent a msg to a friend and asked for a reply just to check

Good luck

But I do google sometimes and use computers a lot.

I think you might have hit snooze for notifications from the email application. Designed so that you can get some rest in case you're getting so many email alerts that you're getting stressed or unable to get more important work done.

Here's a writeup on how to use it:

https://www.lifewire.com/snooze-notifications-in-android-12-5185623

What Is Notification Snoozing in Android 12?

Notification snoozing is a way to silence notifications quickly and easily for a particular application. You can typically snooze alerts for up to two hours, allowing you to quiet them for a short amount of time. It’s helpful in silencing alerts for reminders happening later in the evening or if you’re heading into a meeting and need to quiet that group chat with all your friends.

Unlike Do Not Disturb, notification snoozing in Android 12 will not allow you to quiet alerts for all applications at once or for days at a time. Instead, you will need to do it on an app-by-app basis

There's a section on how to manually set a snooze state and how to turn them off. I suspect you at least pulled up the window to let you set snooze mode, but idk for sure.

Anyway, hope this helps. If not, if you google "android snooze" you can find much more than this one article that might be more useful to you!

It's very likely you accidentally punched something unrelated to your email (or not of much consequence)

I am always accidentally turning off the volume or light level when I am trying to do something else.

And the number of "butt-dials" I get is pretty hilarious.

People will press the phone icon by accident (usually by sitting down) and I must be on their recent called list, or near the top of some list so I get a call with random room noises.

I cannot bring the blue bar up again. I'm scared to mess with it too much. I did close the email before and without touching anything on the blue bar.

I give up. Ty

9. The term Snooze

Was used with digital alarm clocks (remember, you thumped the button on the top for an extra ten minutes sleep?). This has carried on to computers and phones and is generally seen in the context of some kind of alarm.

Can't offer more than this but I doubt you've done any serious wrong.

To replicate, try any clock or time related apps you have - dig around in the settings.

Breathe deep and smile.

Also look for events in a calendar app. You can snooze the reminders for those too.
