I keep getting the pop-up msg. at the top of every DU page I click on. I keep clicking "dismiss" but

it pops up every time I click on another page. I went to Mozilla settings and clicked on "block pop ups" but it's still popping. It's driving me nuts.

Try using the AdGuard Browser Extension ItsjustMe Oct 2023 #1
Once you dismiss it, it's shouldn't come back, however EarlG Oct 2023 #2

Thanks. I'll check. I may or may not be able to do that. mahatmakanejeeves Oct 2023 #6
This did the trick! I have AdGuard installed, but it needed updating, so I did that as well. japple Oct 2023 #4

if something is glitching out try this:

Firefox Preferences > Privacy & Security > Permissions

Under Notifications click on Settings

From there you should be able to block www.democraticunderground.com from sending notification requests.

To be clear, what you're seeing obviously isn't supposed to be happening. We use a third-party service to handle push notifications and since I've seen a couple of people with this issue, it looks like something might have gotten mixed up with the integration after the DU4 launch. I've contacted their support to see what's up.

In the meantime you might find this useful if you have not seen it already. It describes how to block individual websites from sending you notification requests. The section you want would be "How to turn off notifications for specific websites":

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/learning-center/how-to-turn-off-block-browser-notifications?form=MA13I2

I’m posting from my phone now, but the laptop I post from is someone else’s. The owner gets to chose the browser settings

Thanks again, and good afternoon.
