Question about an email I got from Facebook

Relevant text from the email:

"Soon, you won’t need a login code for devices you frequently used Facebook on in the past 2 years.

If you want to keep using a login code for these devices, or if other people have access to them, you will need to opt out by November 12. "

Does anyone have any more details on this, i.e. what is replacing the login code (by this I guess FB means the code it sends you to use for two-step authorization when you log in on a device FB doesn't recognize) process?

I've Googled but can't find any info.

Reveals all sorts of problems that people have with this log-in code. On the surface this may be authentic. Then again it may not.

Can you copy and post the full header from the email?

I went to my FB account and (hopefully!) opted out so I can continue using the 2-step authentication. I'm afraid the new option requires using an authenticator app, and I don't want to put an FB app on my phone.

So far using the login code has worked for me, hopefully that will continue!
