because there are so many people hitting Google from the same IP address via the VPN server.

I tend to stay away from Google and use DuckDuckGo instead, but if I must use Google, and they block the IP address of my current VPN connection, I will leave Google's website, disconnect my VPN and immediately reconnect. Most of the time I will be assigned to a different VPN server (IP address), but if not, I will go into the VPN software and manually select a different server. I will then go back to Google and 99% of the time I don't have any issues.

It's a bit like playing Whac-A-Mole.
