Recommendations for a PPT-to-Video file converter, PLEASE?
I have tried two: Bytescout and EM Powerpoint
Both are clunky, badly-documented, user-unfriendly. Neither actually "converts" the file; what they do is play the file (IN REAL TIME) and re-record it in the new format.
Neither of them offers a way to covert a PPTX file that already has the narration recorded with it in the native Powerpoint app to a simple .avi or .mpeg file with its own audio track.
I am thankful that I tried them only as "trial versions." While possibly the full versions have some funtionality lacking in the trial versions, neither appears to have what I need. Both cost in the $40-60 range, so if I'd shelled out for them I'd be spitting tacks furious about being a hundred bucks or so in the red for useless crapware.
If anyone can point me toward a simple, functional file converter that will accomplish the result of turning a .pptx file with embedded narration into a simple .avi or .mpeg file, I will be most appreciative.

(20,987 posts)$100 would be just do-able.
I had a free trial of it once a couple of years ago, on this computer, so I don't think another one would work, unfortunately.
But I appreciate the recommendation!

I would have bet my first born male child that the Windows version would cost less!

(20,987 posts)As far as I can understand, it's considerably easier to adapt something from a Windows platform to a Mac platform than the other way around.
Another one I owe to Mr. Gates.

(3,342 posts)You can now do full video screen caps on the Mac, with sound, out of the box.
It would be start the QuickTime screen cap on PowerPoint's window, and let the presentation run.

(2 posts)As far as I know, Moyea PPT to Video Converter (http://www.dvd-ppt-slideshow.com/ppt-to-video/) & Leawo PowerPoint to Video (http://www.leawo.com/powerpoint-video-converter/) are the only converters that can convert pptx file to avi video while preserving the animations, transitions, narrations, background music and video clips of the original presentation.
It's recommended to have a try.

All the above mentioned converter tool can easily convert powerpoint to video format. You can easily download any one of them online and easily convert powerpoint in video format.

(1 post)This convert ppt to video for free with sound and animations is a good converter (free) which will convert ppt to video including sounds and animations. This software does not record, it converts ppt or pptx file to wmv file or mov file.

(3,220 posts)You can also try Fraps. Free with watermark (for testing), $30 final price (no watermark, unlimited video).
Just edit with a free movie editor after you're done. I can't recommend Fraps enough - I'm not on YT or anything but I've gotten my money's worth of use so far.
