Related: About this forumAdobe Reader antagonizes Firefox but not Safari?
Firefox automatically installs new version on my computer. Adobe tells me to upgrade which I do.
But recently when I open a pdf file with Firefox I am getting a different appearance - if at all. Even the print command generates a different screen.
So I went to Safari and everything was fine.
Firefox is 19.0.2
Mac is 10.6.8
Adobe Reader is 10.1.6
Anyone else encountered this?

Edit to add: politicly speaking I wouldn't use Firefox - the owner, Brendan Eich, supports taking rights away from LGBT americans. http://projects.latimes.com/prop8/donation/8930/
question everything
(48,907 posts)Interesting about the owner. Which browser do you use? I know that Safari works better with Mac but, at least with earlier versions, it did not always open every page.
Another difference: once I week I visit all our investments - 401Ks at different brokerage sites - and copy and paste the holdings onto Excel. With Firefox - several versions ago - it automatically entered in a heading type font. With Safari - it works fine.

(10,692 posts)I'm a web designer, so I use most of them at one time or another. I primarily use Safari for casual reading and for development though. I always recommend using what your most comfortable with and what works best for you.
It sounds to me like Firefox might have some kind of copy and paste bug that is losing the font for that field.
