How do I get the grey bar @ the top of the page to display the forward and back arrows
and the google search box? They have gone away and i can't find out how to get them back.

I think yours is an app question more than an iMac question . . . which begs the question:

Okay, start by placing your cursor inside the app window, just above the address box . . . .

. . . . right click and select "customize toolbar"
From there you can drag any tool onto the toolbar you wish.
