IPad Air 2

I'm wondering at what point I should avoid iOS updates in order to maintain useability of my iPad?
We have two old iPad 2's. One was updated and the other wasn't. The one that wasn't is still useable. The one that was stutters so bad it's useless.

And it still works great. It's got cellular and acts and feels just like my iPhone 6s but bigger. I haven't noticed lag or hiccups.

or the original iPad 2? Do not update the original. Do update the Air 2. It runs
great on iOS 10.

I would not use iPad 2 on line as it may have unpatched security holes.

I have an iPad 2, does not have power or screen resolution for modern OS. I don't think Apple update will even download 10 to an iPad 2.

I use my old iPad offline and the Air 2 online. I intend to keep my 2 for several apps that will no longer
run under the new update in the fall, iOS 11.

Your iPads are still very very modern.

And Apple tends to support older machines in OS updates for a long time. For example my 2009 runs the latest mac OS, Sierra.

Here's my theory, It is possible that the update got corrupted during download.

Call Apple tech support and say you need help with an iOS update. They will help you get it sorted out for free.

I'll send you a pm in a sec

issues with updates or really anything. While I still need a laptop, I love it because it has a beautiful screen and doesn't get hot!
