Need advice for a database program

I've been collecting information for a songwriting team in order to create a catalog of their works. Does anyone have any suggestions for a software database program for Mac computers? I could use Excel but it's not really quite the right thing.

Thanks!

Apache OpenOffice for Mac is free. It has robust writer, spreadsheet, database, slide presentation, and math components. Check it out. The price is right.

I love Filemaker Pro. It is cross-platform and has lots of wonderful features but it is quite pricey ($329).

You might check out Ninox Database ($35). Good reviews on the Mac OS X app store.

iDatabase sounds like it might work for you, too. ($28).

I have not tried either of those, just Filemaker.

That's the program I used over 20 years ago but had forgotten about it. I remember it was powerful and easy to use.

Thanks for reminding me, Louis1895!

If you go the FMP route, the Filemaker Go app for the iPhone is free and may be useful to access your DB from your phone.

The other two apps I mentioned appear to have iPhone capabilities at some level, I think.
