Ok, I have a relic. It's an iPhone 5 and it has served me well. I am recharging it on an Amtrak train back to Boston, but I just pulled it out of my bag and it's very hot. I have never experienced that before. Is this something that I should be worried about?

(5,684 posts)didn't apple offer to replace these for free?
/edit they made it 'nearly' free for the 6 NOT the 5, due to the software slowdown fiasco more info

It is relative easy to replace these yourself and you can get a kit with the tools on youtube

(17,649 posts)They make it harder for it to disapate heat. Personally, I wouldn't have it in a bag while it's charging.

(18,876 posts)Check "Settings">"Battery". If anything is using up more than 18% - 20% battery, that is the culprit.

(4,919 posts)... because you are on a train... That process uses power and will cause the iPhone to get warm, especially if it's charging.
