X-posted from Computer Help - Turn off Screen Time in iOS 12

I suspect the recent upgrade to iOS 12 with inbuilt Screen Time app is playing hell with battery usage. Turn it off? Not unless you have a passcode that you never remembered creating.

Heres how to rid yourself of Screen Time.

1. Plug your iPad into computer and make a local, encrypted backup. Remember to note encryption password.

2. Download this little program: https://pinfinder.net/windows.html (or Mac or Linux version)

3. Unzip and run pinfinder.exe. It will bring up a command line window. Wait for it to finish.

4. Use the Restrictions passcode (4 digit) to unlock access to screen time and TURN THE BLOODY THING OFF!

The original post had more to do with how to turn it off if there was a restrictions passcode set and you didn't know what it was. I've seen some comments (elsewhere) that would indicate there might be a problem with a passcode set unexpectedly or from other/shared devices.
