I have lots of 4X4 glass negatives

from about 1905>1910. Wonder if there any ez way to make some positives? They don't have to be of great quality, just a good idea of what they look like.

I'm using OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. Have HP Envy 4500 printer scanner.

A friend told me I might need PhotoShop.
Was hoping I could just do it using only the scan-printer.

Does your scanner scan negatives? They have to be backlit. Dr Hobbitstein Mar 2019 #2

If so scan, then invert the image using whichever photo editor you choose. If they are black and white negatives, then desaturate before inverting.

I used to do LOTS of film > digital photography in the early 00s.

I have a bunch of old glass negatives that have been scanned on my website at:
http://www.2manitowoc.com/04/glassnegatives.html

just click on the names and they will come up. I used MGI photosuite to clean a lot up because they had deteriorated and wanted the researchers to get a good photo to have in their files.
