I must commend Apple support

It took me daily persistence for about 10 days to get an appointment at the nearby Genius Bar regarding a battery that appeared to be in rigor mortis. When I finally got there, they had the line separated outside between GB appointments and purchasers. I was the only one in the repair line. There were guards there who took care of opening and closing the door. They didn't let me in until there was a person behind glass to help me, and there were impressive temporary walls set up around her. I could also see lots of Geniuses milling about behind her, of course wearing masks and staying six feet away from each other, to help people without my kind of problem. She told me my MacBook would first go to triage and I'd have it back within two weeks probably. I got a call the next morning (Saturday) saying I should have it back within the week--it would have to go offsite. I just got it back after THREE DAYS! I'm only using it for recreational purposes at this point, but it was a long three days with my ancient iPad. Thank you, Apple!

My phone battery (phone is less than a year old) was not performing, so I called in. They were able to do a test on the phone while we were talking. My tech was knowledgeable and fun to work with. She determined the phone was in need of a software update and there was one other factor in the battery performance that she was able to tell me how to adjust. Also I had some app running in the background that was sucking up power.

I was worried I'd have to sent the phone in or worse yet, take my product in like you did. No way did I want to spend the time to do that.

Now, a day or two later, the battery seems to be performing so much better. I'm watching it carefully, and I hope it's fixed.

BTW, did you know that in settings you can tell how well your battery performs against when it was new? Helpful.

iPhones and desktop products. I bought a "refurbished" iMac from their web site. Worked well for about a month and then started getting flakey. Made an appointment, took it in and a few days later got it back.. something about the motherboard... A week later same problem and gave them a call. They said come right over, which I did. They took in the back and the service genius called the store mgr over... Second repair, same problem?? Mgr said with out batting a eye "give him a new one".. They copied my drive to the new one and I left a happy camper... Mind you the referb unit I got was a couple of hundreds less than a new one... I was impressed..
Don't you wish car dealers would do that??

get it going. Called Apple Support which called me immediately and at some point I gave a permission to enter my screen and everything was fixed.

Not to be ungracious, but I am not dumb enough to think they care about people more than anyone else does, but they are less tacky and I will take that:

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/12/16/tech/facebook-apple-ios-privacy-rules/index.html

I will say this for Zuckerberg-he is a very non-polarizing figure. He is almost universally disliked, the way certain other public officials are universally respected. He is a unifying force in his own way.
I am hoping some combination of genuine philosophical evolution, human ingenuity and good taste rescue us as a species. I hope the combined efforts of Elizabeth Warren (good govt) and Apple (better industrial practices), send Zuckerberg (one of the pests who invented the data science factory farm) into oblivion, the way I hope Corey Booker and lab-grown meat end factory farming.

Of course most Facebook and Google employees seem like decent enough people and they vote Dem. Presumably, they are good on green issues and animal welfare. The business model still sucks and the leadership is awful.
