When I click on help in Excel

I get a response saying my version (2016) should be upgraded. various packages available, one at $70 per year. Others more expensive. Has anyone done this? And would you have to renew every year? Doesn't sound like a good deal to me. Just wanted to get some input from more experienced users here.

If it works for you w/no issues, don't bother. I use 2016 and it's fine. CurtEastPoint Apr 2021 #2

It’s 9.99 a month and I’d always up to date. Sure, subscriptions annoy me but this one makes sone sense.

I do "rent" Office 365 nowadays for all the apps. But if I only needed Excel, I'd just keep using 2016.

I loathe anything from Microsoft Office and only use it because my clients do. Someday -- and that day is coming -- I'm going to have to upgrade.
