Related: About this forumIs there any reason to buy a MacBook Air directly from Apple if it's cheaper elsewhere?
It's about $100 cheaper at Best Buy, appears to be the 2021 model with the M1 chip, and comes with the standard one year of Apple Care.

(1,927 posts)It's the same device. You might get better answers to your questions from an Apple employee (e.g. what add-ons are worth buying).
And I've seen Best Buy folks promoting their Geek-Squad Protecton plans when all the customer wanted was advice on how to move their contents over from their old computer (which is easy enough to do yourself if you can follow the screen when you boot up the new Mac).
For me, I like buying from Apple online .. saves a lot in sales-tax (I live outside the city limits).

(14,692 posts)a day later they said it was fixed. Worked for a day or so and the same thing happened. Brought it back and the Store manager told the repair person to take a new one off the shelf and give it to me... Now THATS customer service. I was impressed..YMMV

(90 posts)I have bought the top of the line iPads from BestBuy and it is as good as buying from Apple. I bought my MacBook Air I currently use from Apple and both experiences were good.
