it should take you to a screen where you can turn private browsing off.

I'm getting different screens and nothing looks right.

I may have to visit an Apple store.

I just did it by accident!

That will get you a pop up menu.

In recent times, Apple has included things that are not intuitive, nor can you even guess what things do when you tap or hold them down.

On edit! YES. It worked. I have my tabs restored and the private mode is gone. And now I know what to do.
